Tim, I have tried using Auctioneer off and on for about 2 years, each time watching youtube videos on people who try to teach or show others how to use the addon auctioneer, and each time its an utter failure (I think they were really crapping tutorials) and non-believable. It took me less than 5 minutes to get my first multiboxing team created, macros setup and soon pwning thanks to your style and presentation. I know you have mentioned doing a tutorial for auctioneer, and was wondering how close are to completing one or getting one started? I know you have a lot of projects going, but I can count on excellent and very informative videos and guides from you. Broomba

Hey Broomba, Actually I'll be doing it fairly soon, I'm just waiting on some auction-type of artwork to be done that'll accompany the tutorial. In fact, I have about 140 items in my mailbox now, all gold sales, that I haven't looted, waiting for when I decide to record some video of it ![]() Is there a specific area that you would like to be covered?

I've actually found Auctioneer to no longer be the best tool for running auctions. If you want to dominate the warcraft auction world, I'd use three tools to that end. Auctioneer is easily the best tool to identify which items are available at a discount. So Auctioneer is definitely one of the tools you would want in your arsenal, if you were set on controlling a market, or general reselling of anything available at a discount. As always, regular auction scans are what makes this addon rock. Auctionator is useful because if you want 30 of an item, it will buy the combination of one stacks and ten stacks, etc..., so that you end up with the cheapest combination of auctions that total 30 items. Common logic would hold that 100 of something would sell for less (per unit) than 1 of that same item. In Warcraft, you can buy singles of any of the Volatiles, and relist them in stacks of 10's, and make a profit... because people would rather pay 220g for 10 than 19g93s for 1 and have to click to purchase 10 times. I frequently sell stacks of 200's for 3-4g per unit greater than the single's price. Auction Profit Master, formerly Quick Auctions, is a much stronger tool for listing auctions then Auctioneer or its mass listing tool Appraiser. With APM, you have to set up categories and add items to one of those categories. I've made several, for example 10s to 99s, 1g to 4g99s, 5g to 9g99s, 10g to 19g99s, 20g to 49g99s, 50g to 99g99s, 100g to 199g99s, etc. The addon controls how many per stack, and how much per unit to list for. Also how many stacks can be up at once, and how long the auction should be for. It scans other items of the same type, and undercuts by your defined value (1 copper, is my undercut value). You can click Cancel, and anything that can be relisted (unless you check ignore Cancel) as the lowest item will be canceled. Similarly Post will post each item, to be the cheapest within your price range. There are fall-back values, to post at if the lowest price is below your minimum for the item. You can also set it to post at the second lowest value, if that the lowest is too low, so if everyone else is listing something at 125g and one person lists at 39g, you'll list at 124g99s9c. It will also go above your maximum range, by a percentage, to be slightly lower than other auctions if they're all above your maximum; you configure the maximum percentage for this.

Interesting Ualaa, I'll have to check that out. For me, Auctioneer is a tool, not a method to make gold in WoW. I have a pretty wicked understanding of business and markets, so personally, I take real world marketing principles and then apply them to WoW, with Auctioneer merely being a tool to facilitate, which it does nicely.

Auctionator does the same thing it sounds like as Auction Profit Master, however I will check that out. I use Auctioneer and Auctionator, which works for me. I used to use just Auctioneer but found its a slow process when posting. With Auctionator you can hold down the right Alt key and click on your bag items and they'll deposit in the sell window with your standard post options. You can customize the preset undercut options, as well as post length. I default mine to 24hrs, any longer its a waste of time sitting in the AH since they're most likely been undercut already on most items. When you post your items too, you can set where you want your price range to be in at. Much like APM. All you have to do is click on the list of similar auctions and you will undercut your selected competitor. Pretty handy if as Ualaa says, some dummy decided to sell something for dirt cheap when the next items is several hundred gold higher. However in some cases I may just buy that low cut item just to repost, and often they sell. In auctionator you can also buy competitor posts of the same item you're posting right from the Sell window. Very handy. It seems to suit my auction needs, but I do like the auto post option too, especially with things that I frequently need to repost like glyphs or farmed stuff.
