Anyone tried/had success resetting an item's value?

The mats that combine into Truegold have held a constant value on my server for the last 6-8 weeks.

Truegold however, has tanked in value from 600g per bar to the lower end of the 400's.

I am currently transmuting 35-40 Truegold every 3rd day (depending on procs), and would much rather sell them for 600g each than 400g each.

There are usually 40-50 bars listed on the AH at any given time.
I could purchase them all for 16-20k, which honestly isn't all that much.

But I don't have any use for Truegold, aside from selling it.
And don't have a need for an extra 50 bars, if others will simply relist at the 400 range.

Anyone have experience resetting a price?

I have the experience that Truegold is a lost cause

For profit, try doing Living elements in uldum, for Volatile AIr.

On most servers, that makes a straight up 200g profit, per day, per character

If u dont have the portal to uldum you will have to do 5 min of questing (up until deliviring the quest that lets u escape from lost city)

I started with the Life > Air, and have made a small fortune doing that.

Basically fly four of the five members of each team to Gadgetzan, then fly over to Vortex Pinnacle's summoning stone.

Someone on dual boxing pointed out Truegold was twice as profitable as Air, and for a month or so it was.



Unfortunately, people are rather ruthlessly undercutting each other.
And not by the typical 1 copper that the volume sellers do.
Every day, the price seems to drop 25-50g per bar with a volume of 40-50 bars at the new price.



Life costs 8 gold currently.
Air sells for 16 gold currently.

Looking at the numbers...
10x Life > Air
10x Life > Water
10x Life > Fire
+ 3x Pyrium
= 80 + 80 + 80 + 60 = 300g per bar.
And they've dropped to 400g, so 100g per bar profit if they sell the first time.

Conversely
30x Life > Air
= 240 cost to transmute
And singles sell for 16g per, or 480g, which is a 240g profit (stacks sell for up to 22g per).

A month ago, Truegold was 750-800g per bar (450-500g profit per bar and any transmutes rocked).

Truegold still seems to be falling.
Meanwhile Air has retained its value for the last couple of months.
