I havent found the macro option yet. But I did find the follow option... just not the follow hotkey. Ill try to look that up next time I play.

Honestly, Im not sure if its worth multiboxing. Not even from a quality standpoint, but from a mechanics standpoint. As you add more people to the group, the space missions get more difficult. As for the ground combat, you always have 5 people in your groups, whether it be 4 people or 4 NPCs youre grouped with, its always 5. There doesnt seem to be any benefit to having multiboxed slaves over AI-ed NPCs. The AI seems pretty solid as well.

As for good. Its repeatitive for sure. The space combat vs the ground combat doesnt mesh well and feels like 2 different games. Sometimes youll be flying several space missions in sequence and run into a ground mission and you have to get use to fighting on the ground. If the ground portion takes a while, youll forget how to fly your ship when youre inevitibly put right into a space battle when you get back on your ship.

I still love it cause its Star Trek. I have my own ship and Im blasting away Klingons with my phasers and photon torpedoes. Its fun from that point of view. Not a WoWkiller, and I dont think its trying to be.

Actually, you can set it up to be very keyboard based, but thatll just limit your options. You basically have 8 actionbar slots and not alternate actionbars. Its a lot easier to click the commands that are already displayed by default versus putting them on a keyboard, but that creates some very awkward movement. That G13(?) keypad would be absolutely perfect in this game given that mouseturning gives you a very limited advantage. I find the most awkward thing is that its actually more intuituve to use the keyboard to turn (thus treating it more like a flight simulator), however, using the actionbar requires me to click or make the choice to lose out on clicking on shield distribution.

I don't think I could get too involved with a space type MMO anyway. There is just something about swords/magic type of fantasy MMO that is so immersive. Anything else just wouldn't cut it.

A lot of what Im posting here is just theory, but it does get some interesting ideas in my head. Im actually thinking about setting up a actionbar setup. Im thinking about building around a torpedo setup (hopefully the game will allow for it) and take the mouse out of the picture for the most part. Here's how it'll go:

1 - Torpedo Volley (I think thats what its called)
2 - Power to Aft Shields
3 - Emergency power to weapons
4 - Power to Port Shields
5 - Launch Torpedoes
6 - Power to Starboard Shields
7 - Shields Balancing (maybe Evasive Manuvers)
8 - Power to Forward Shields

Ill still use the mouse for out-of-combat stuff. However, when piloting, its left-hand on the movement controls and right-hand on the weapons controls.

The phasers will be set to auto and be controlled by the spacebar. Im just scared that Itll end up being a 6-button actionbar, which would suck big time.

It looks like a fun game. Might have to give it a spin when (or if) a demo comes out

Hunt down a beta key. Apparently several sites are giving them out.
