| Any fans of Battlestar Galatica here? Did you know they just announced a MMO will be coming out? http://www.massively.com/2010/03/09/...ca-mmo-coming/ Would you guys play a BSG MMO? I myself would have far more interest in this than STO. The story and plot behind BSG lends to a really strong potential for 2 main forces ant/pro tagonist (human vs cylon). I'd hit it. |

| I remember watching the original soap-opera version of the show, when I was growing up. Definitely checked out the new version, and have them all on DVD now. The new show is an action instead of a drama, but it takes a while to get used to the changes in the show. I've watched it through twice now, once when it aired and once as a marathon while leveling teams through repetitive content. I'm tempted to do the whole show again, sometime in the near future (watching Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles again, currently). I don't think I'd play a BSG MMO, but think it might make an excellent first person shooter game, or perhaps a theme/setting for something like Team Fortress. |

| IMO, BSG is too linear to allow for the expansive nature of an MMO. Star Trek definitely lends more to that sort of genre because we only were looking at a miniscule part of the overall universe. However in Galactica, we see the whole of the conflict. There's only one battlestar (two if you count Pegasus) and there was never anything to account for any conflict beyond what surrounds the main fleet. I suppose its possible, but it would definitely lend itself more towards a shooter type of game.

| If you follow the timeline of the newer show... and set the game about 25 years prior to the episodes of the new show. You have the Cylons becoming self-aware, and rebelling against the Twelve Colonies. At that point in the timeline, you have hundreds of battlestars and base ships, with at least 12 colonized planets. It really depends on when they set the game. |

| Then, it'd have to be post-Caprica. The cylon war would make an interestinng backdrop. I do hope that they borrow more from EVE in terms of mechanics than from STO.
