| For those of you who have been following my live video multiboxing streams, I'm sure you are aware of the constant issues I am having with Comcast, the worst ISP known. My Comcast connection drops between 5-30 times a day, causing a complete disconnection from the Internet (thus the stream stops), and even when it doesn't disconnect, Comcast is throttling my speed to roughly 1000% slower to try and make me stop streaming. What a POS company. I've ordered a new, radical internet service (point to point microwave) and it should be going in approx. 2 weeks from this Monday. This new connection, as long as it all goes as plan, will give me a boatload of high end business class access. Whereas DSL and Cable might be 30-40ms ping times, this one is about 1/10th of a ms. So while I wait for this new Internet access, I might only be streaming 3ish times a week. But once this new Internet access comes in..... ..... I am going to do a 24 hour long, non stop session, leveling 5 shamans!!!! |

| Senior Member | Go go Microwave! I was approached by a P2P Mwave company about a year ago, when I was IT Manager for a local company. I knew almost nothing of it at the time, and we had a 4.5mbps bonded T1 (thats 3 of them bonded) which we were happy with, so I politely told them no thanks. It got me interested tho, and the quality of the service from what I have read can be extremely bad to OMGWTFBBQSAUSE awesome. I hope you get the latter =) |

| The quality all depends on the gear and the setup. The stuff I'll be using is a closed source proprietary set of protocols, not at all like using 802.11 or any of that wireless stuff. I've worked with this stuff before in the past for a 20MB/sec up and down for a business in the past, and back then the avg. latency was 4ms, with a packet delivery of 9x5, so I have some high expectations. |

| Senior Member | Yeah, like I said, it can be bad, but the good stuff highly outranks the possible bad setups. I still dont know enough about it, but from what I had read when I was the IT Manager, it seems like a HUGE AWESOMENESS. As an aside, Jingle Networks, the company that created and provides 1-800-FREE-411, uses a microwave setup as a backup for their network (which is huge, 45mbps or something). They dont go down. Ever |

| Yea exactly, I set up a microwave point to point as a backup for 2 companies in the past, and in a funny twist of events, the microwave had a higher uptime than the SONET ring I put in place. 100% uptime over 2 years (no events with 10ms loss or higher) and the SONET, by a stroke of huge bad luck, had both sides of the ring cut by a 2 road trenchers about 15 miles apart. |

| Member | I've had it out against Comcast since the new President came in and ruined both G4 and Tech TV within about half a year of being in the company.
