3-Boxing Frost Mages: Theorycrafting Time

Okay guys,

I'm having such an incredible time playing the Frost Mage I created that I'm thinking about multiboxing 3 of them. So lets talk some potential theorycrafting of multiboxing 3x Frost Mages.

PVE:

• Frost Mage DPS is pretty insane, especially burst DPS. The ability to blink/rocketjump gives you extra mobility when doing follow-mode based movements in Heroic boss situations where you suddenly have to jump around to move.

PVP:

• Frost Mages have insane burst DPS with Frostbolt/Icelance
• Frost Mages have ridiculous amounts of CC with Frost Nova, and the pet Frost Nova.
• They are really hard to kill with their damage shields. On my Frost Mage I have about 30k shield from spells, and 20k from Melee, all on a 30s cooldown.
• Super mobile DPS due to ice lance spamming
• Mirror Image on 3x would be pure awesome to watch
• Heals happen with food, and pretty darn fast at that.
• Iceblock out of fear
• Chain casting the Pet ranged Frost Nova would make virtually any melee class have no shot in killing us.

Also, 3x boxing would allow me to use that really fat elephant mount

What are your thoughts?

Does anybody know if Deep Freeze stacks? If not, does that mean the Deep Freeze crit would happen to the other 2 mages after the 1st mage Deep Freezes? If so then thats an instant kill since my Deep Freeze dmg (100% crits) are 55-80k each.

I know they have several freezes, and on four different diminishing returns categories. Ideally you would want to cycle between them.

A1, B1, C1, D1, A2, etc...

Not sure you would be able to use them all effectively boxed. Some of the freezes are from the Water Elemental.

Anytime you have an opponent frozen, it is Icelance.

For PvE you'll likely be much more successful with Arcane.
A very simple macro, that does a lot more DPS then Frost.
But for PvP, definitely go with Frost, the control is sickening; even if the other two just spammed Icelance, while you did the freezing stuff on the main mage...

Oh man I'm totally considering it, 3x Frost Mages for PVP would be a blast (pun?).

For Arcane, how would it be easier to do a simple macro and DPS? Also, would I gear up the same way for Arcane as I would Frost?

Even though I have a 85 Frost Mage, I feel like a noob still on it

Alternate between these two macros.
Either with a "step" like feature that sends '1' then '2', then resets.
Or with the default warcraft /changeactionbar command, with both macros on '1' (or whatever key you spam), each changing to the action bar of the other.

So basically you just button mash 1,2,1,2,1,2 nonstop with those 2 macros?

Also, as a Frost Mage, I typically just gem for INT, and get gear with CRIT/MASTERY. Would that be about the same for an Arcane Mage you think?

Pretty much, just alternate between the two.

Not sure on the gearing of a mage.
For some classes, Mastery is an amazing stat (Feral Druid, example).
For others, it is utter useless garbage (Boomkin Druid, example).

For Arcane (PvE), Elitist Jersks suggests to Gear/Reforge for:
Hit (To Cap) > Int > Haste > Mastery > Crit

Gem:
Meta - 3% Crit
Red - Straight Int
Yellow - Straight Int
Blue - Straight Int
(But enough of whatever other colors, to keep the Meta active).

And these glyphs:
Arcane Blast, Arcane Missiles, Mage Armor.
