trying VC on hunters :/ failed

i tried to do it but whenever i used my
/assist focus
/cast hunters mark
/pet attack

the pets just ran off to a bunch of mobs and pulled :/ wiped and gave up for today ima log off can any1 leave any tips on how to do this?

I think the command is :
/petattack

I think /pet attack might have set them to agressive, that's why they attacked the first mobs they found.

What I personally do is

/assist (leader of your group's name)
/follow
and then a separate button for

/petattack

or you can make it

/cast hunter's mark
/petattack

There are many ways you can work it out. My play style differs but it also has never failed me.

Won't hurt to try it out

Yazoo is 150% right here.

make sure you set your hunters pets to passive. Then just make sure your macro says /petattack (ALL ONE WORD!!).

Below is the macro the at first glance is just ur basic maco.. but on the other hand this one... is a combonation of macros and they work together
If hitting the button u can hit mouse1 to use it normally or hit mouse2 to just put huntermark on that is all

also on hitting mouse 1 it sees if ur in group and puts cower or growl on depending on situation..and also send ur pet to attack

Both you hunter's mark and your pet's attack will only occur if you have someone targeted on focus, so you're pet (unless in aggressive mode) will only ever be attacking the intended target.

Key:
Exists means if you have a target
Nodead means if the target is alive
Harm means if the target is a killable monster (not a vendor etc.)


I always try never to use /assist, because it can interrupt some things, I like my noobs to have no one targeted, and cast all their spells via
/cast [target=focustarget] SPELL
Just my personal preference.
