The final boss, where you gotta ride the dragons... hate it. I dual specced one of my shammy's to resto, as I've read that you leave a healer down on the platform to heal party and just go with 4 tank dragons. What should his healing totem be doing per tic? Mine doesn't seem to be to much better then his Elemental spec?? Something (the whelplings) keeps attacking him and killing him, while I'm dpsing with the tanks. If he was untouched, pretty sure I could get through this... (with some pots, consumeables) But right now, can't even get below 2.2 Mill hit points... ugh. I'm guessing I need glyphs, and a specific totem to help his healing totem... mine does 190ish a tick and I'm sure I saw a video where the totem was ticking in the 400's? Maybe I misread that?

I use the '5 ruby's tactic' on heroic for my pally/4 shaman team and never wiped again. 1. Fly with your 5 ruby drakes to one of the little rocks outside the platform where Eregos is flying circles( I usually take the rock where the chest is on). 2. Dismount and plant your 16 totems there( with 4 healing stream totems). 3. Mount up and make sure all char's are facing eregos, fly straight up 30yards max.(to be in range of the tomems), and make sure none of your char's is on follow anymore. 4. As soon as Eregos comes in range, start spamming Searing wrath on all 5. No need to worry about the little drakes as they will be killed from the fire damage jumping around. 5. When you see Eregos going incorporeal, activate Evasive Maneuvers on all drake's and wait till it's over.( no need to run, just stay in place). 6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 till he's dead. 7. Loot the box on the rock beneath you ![]() P.S.:- The drakes scale with your gear, the better your gear, the more hp they will have and the easier it gets. - You can also buff your drake's with party buffs like drums or sta scrolls to get even more hp. - If you should see 1 of the drake's getting real low on hp, use Martyr on 1 of the other drake's(with the highest hp) Good luck Last edited by Lex; 08-16-2010 at 05:13 PM.

Thank-you for the reply. I'm guessing my gear is not good enough for that strat (I'm guessing dragon inherits stats from your gear), as he systematically chews through each dragon 1-5, and I'm dead when he's at 750k or so.... my gear is good enough to mow through everything up to him... no deaths on the previous 3 bosses... but not a whiff on this dude.

Now I'm guessing that with Cata out, this should be cake if you want to get the achievement for your guild or self. I'll post when i'm done and my results on this. I'll use the 5 red strat with totems on the ground since I have the same team.

The entire vehicle mechanic... playing a Drake, Catapult, War Engine, Knight etc... is retarded. I don't want "Shoot", "Shields" and "Javelin". I'd rather play a Druid, Mage, Death Knight, Paladin or Rogue. I do want Mangle, Ravage, Rip and Pounce. Or Death Grip, Howling Blast, Hungering Cold, etc. Unfortunately, Blizzard seems to like this type of mechanic.

I'll repost something i posted some time ago on the *other* mb forum: I had tried with the healer on platform method but couldn't get it to work well (priest died, dragons too far or whatever) and the 5 tanks as well, but this is too slow. here's how i have it set up: Toon 1 and 3 rotate with toon 2 and 4. toon 5 can be in either group, or have a different drake altogether if he needs the 'experienced drake rider' achievement. - keybindings on toon 1 and 3: [F4] for spell 1 (shoot), [F5] for spell 2 (stun), [F1] for spell 3 (beam) - keybindings on toon 2 and 4: [F2] for spell 1 (shoot), [F6] for spell 2 (stun), [F3] for spell 3 (beam) line all the drakes, and then press the function keys in this order: 1 2 2 2 3 4 5 1 2 2 2 3 4 6 just make sure you do enough '2' to get 10 stacks of the debuff on eregos. basically that will make 2 drakes beam (F1) while 2 shoot and build charges (F2), then those 2 drakes will stop shooting and start beaming (F3) at which point the first drakes unload their charges (F4). then stun (F5) as the whelps are about to come out. At this point you should be in the first planar phase (~60%), run away :-) If you didnt get whelps before the planar phase, keep your stun to start off phase 2. repeat but use your second stun this time (F6) . just make sure you see the beams go off correctly when you press F1 and F3, as sometimes the drakes could be busy firing and not start the beam As stated in a previous post, if you get whelps before the second planar phase, it's likely to be a wipe. otherwise, Eregos will be dead in a matter of seconds.
