| Armor -all hunters should upgrade to MAIL armor ASAP, as they share armor totals with their pets, so the more armor you wear, the more armor your pet will have, like wise having huge Agility will add to this even further! Also, Stamina is shared to a hunter's pet, so more stamina = more health = more survivability! Stats and itemization -AGILITY is the PRIMARY stat, STRENGTH is useless for a hunter and should never, ever be itemized; instead INTELLECT is a secondary stat that should be built around AGILITY and STAMINA (for pvpers)...there are PVE builds for hunters and PVP builds, obviously you want more STAMINA if you are going to PVP however later you will see all items in BC/WOTK content will have the following: Agility and/or AP Intellect Stamina ..with a mix of all 3 so you should be looking then either Stamina or Intellect and always Agility, obviously. Straight AP is always good! The reason why you don't want Strength is that it gives NO RANGED AP, but only melee AP which is TOTALLY USELESS for a hunter. The reason why you want INTELLECT, it builds your MANA pool as well as high mana regen (meaning you won't have to switch aspects as often, especially on trash mobs, but on longer fights you might still have to; however, more INTELLECT will make for better fighting efficiency). -NEVER EVER MELEE WITH YOUR HUNTER, ESPECIALLY IN PVP! You will hit like a girl compared to straight melee classes, with only Raptor strike and wing-clip (slow) you cannot do much but you will do 10x more damage at range, so try and stay at range. You MUST get into the habit of running away called KITING mobs rather than stand there and melee them. -KITING MOBS: if you dot a target with a sting, you can have them chase after you FOREVER, so long as you maintain the sting or dot on them. The trick is to run straight back, then turn 45 degrees, shoot them with arcane, reapply your dot, run again. KITING is a key thing, that only hunters can do really well! -PULLING MOBS is the other thing Hunters do really well, do not always pull with your pets, but try and use LOS tactics to break mobs apart. It is difficult to do while multiboxing sometimes, but a little practice will make this an easy thing to do, especially if you are chain pulling/farming instances. Again, using a STING and dotting a mob, will make it run FAR longer at you so long as you KITE it properly JUMP SHOTTING: this technique, is again, unique to hunters and used with KITING you can be really annoying by staying at range. It is a skill that MUST be mastered, it makes things easier. To do it: -like KITING, dot the target if you can however you can do it without a dot as in PVP if you have a mob on you -you will run STRAIGHT BACK from the mob, then after 20-30 paces or when you feel comfortable the mob is far enough away (you will get a feel for it).. -next, jump in the air and AT THE SAME TIME, turn around in the air and fire at your target ----> HUNTER'S CAN FIRE EVERY INSTANT CAST WHILE MOVING, SO THIS IS WHY JUMP SHOTTING WORKS SO WELL!! -you will now be running towards them, however, with practice, you can actually turn, in the air, take the shot, and then turn back running away from them...and this is called JUMP SHOTTING. ................ This site has many useful entry level skill based videos about Hunters, it has been mentioned on your feed a couple times; I highly recommend watching them, all newly created Hunters should take time to learn basic skill sets so they are not considered HUNTARDS. They are only a couple minutes long each, but very helpful! The Basics: BRK Baby Hunter Movie, Part One BRK Baby Hunter Movie, Part Two BRK Baby Hunter Movie, Part 3 Jump Shotting Part 2: BRK Jump Shot II Movie Shot Rotation: BRK Hunter Guide Movie: Shot Rotation Magic -having a good shot rotation, is core to RAIDING but also important in PVP! -PVP Tip: 1. Always MARK your target, especially Rogues/Droods/Mages as they cannot stealth with a hunter mark on them (the tooltip shows this!), and for these classes being out in the open = death. Use your Hunter's Mark, especially in PVP. ............ Hope all this helps out! Cheers and good luck out there! PS: I have been playing a Hunter for 2yrs, and I do huge dps in PVP pretty much top or top 3 in any instance so I use all these skills and ideas to max affect; if I do decide to multibox I am thinking about it, I think things will definately get crazy! | Member | It's harder to pull off some of the hunter maneuvers while playing five characters at once. Kiting isn't as useful as it was during the Burning Crusade, because pets hardly lose aggro anymore, and it's really easy to take out elites one or two plus your level. What time should do though, is add a /cast hunter's mark macro to his bear charges, to increase damage a little. Just have it in a cast-sequence macro and spam it. Hunter tactics, or really any tactics at all become a moot point when playing four other characters at once.

| While I agree that it would be hard to Jump Shot five characters at once, sometimes Tim has been in a position of meleeing in PVP where he should be running away, sending his pets in and then jump shotting would be far more effective than taking a beating needlessly. Learning this tactic, is not a waste of time at all. Learning how to stay at range, and why to stay at range developing a response to those that melee against you as a hunter is key to playing it well. Hunters do not melee well, it is their only weakness. As well, all hunter ranged skills except Steady Shot can be used while moving; and a hunter always on the move is very hard to kill. As well, last night Tim was on Ramparts with the boss dead but 2 adds. So he stood there and melee but realized he has no skill in it. All he had to do was KITE those 2 mobs, in Viper, get your mana back, switch aspects then dps down. With the priest their to heal, there was no reason to die. I have run entire instances with 3 or 4 mobs chasing me but knowing the instance and being able to KITE and Jump Shot mobs I have actually survived quite nicely. These are in heroics btw. It doesn't always work but its better than trying to melee or just giving up. As well you always have FD which completely drops aggro. |

| I'm pretty sure you can do the macro like this /cast Hunter's Mark /petattack No use for a castsequence since they arent on the GCD *I think*. |

| Yea Verdres, that is the same macro I have been using for years now. I have been playing WoW since Closed beta and have been playing a hunter the entire time. I have 2 lvl 80 hunters (one Ally - one Horde) and enjoy the class a lot. From what I have seen of Tim's macros and the way he plays, he is doing a really good job at it so far. I have been watching now since they were level 20, and am really enjoying this. I have been dual boxing for 3 years now and started off just alt tabbing. This is the third multi-boxing software that I have tried and am really happy with it. I just need to learn how to use the mouse broadcasting to get my volleies off. Thanks for all of this Tim.

| Hey there! AWESOME write up! So I need a macro that will make a hunter not do hunters mark if there is already one on there. Hmm! Also I'm thinking about how I could do jumpshot on all my hunters at once. Wouldn't that be sick to see? Multiboxed hunters all jumpshotting?! |

| I'm pretty sure that he said Stamina was a good thing. |

| Don't think that macro is possible, but I could be wrong. |

Its just a matter of actually practicing it so that you can do it instinctively. It seems hard but its not, remember hunters can use instant shots while moving? Likewise you can turn in the air while jumping. So combining these two ideas is what you want to do. Overall this is themed 'kiting' but you are really just using it to stay away from any melee on you; thus maximizing your dps while keeping you out of danger and that is the whole point. Your welcome for the post, if I think of anything else I will add but pretty sure I covered all the basics; and the BigRedKitty videos are ftw. xD | |
