Default It has been a few months, my experience so far, and some questions

I bite the bullet and went ahead with the implementation 3 days ago.

This is my experience so far...

The RAF process was fast and painless. I followed the instructions to the letter. And thanks to Ualaa's advice, I use his proposed method. A-> C-> E and A -> B -> D. It's great, there is one down side though: since A is my booster and the account has all the mounts, he can get to the destination quickly. I use the "teleport friend to your location" feature for RAF. It does has a 30 mins cooldown. So if A summons B, I will need to wait 30 mins in order to summon C. But nonetheless, I hope to level quick enough so that I don't need the summon.

Ok the initial setup is overwhelming. I know I have read warnings from posts here and other forums, but the initial setup takes a lot of trial and error, especially if you don't have someone experienced to guide you.

I installed the addon Jamba, and it certainly help a lot. Especially with the following of the leader. It took me a while to set it correctly. Before I got it right, the toonz were running in all directions. LOL.

I managed to get the toonz to move with the master. targeting seems to be an issue. The first target is ok, but when there are more than one mob, after I kill the first one, not all the toonz are targeting the second one. Not sure where I went wrong with my macros.

I was able to level 5 worgen toonz from 1 to 16 before I get out of the starting area. I chose different classes because I was thinking the loots from the dungeons won't go to waste. (yes I know I am greedy....)

After I got out of the starting area, I headed straight for LFG to go to Deadmines. Going through with the dungeons was my main aim to multibox, and I was eager to test out my strategy. Boy was I over-confident. I was wiped for a few times, and took me about 2 hrs to get to the final boss. I guess my main problem was that I have not master each of the 5 classes well enough to create a /castsequence macro to deal more damages. In the end, I used one my main account 85 to breeze through the low level dungeon. My main worry is that if I rely on high level character, I cannot learn from the experience of actually running 5 toonz as separate roles in the DG.

I did however, managed to get my priest to target heal any of the other toonz when necessary. I use a stupid method, but at least it works for now. The tank's performance to gather aggro however, was not up to my expectation. I will need to work on that.

One key problem I have was that I control the tank, the other 4 toons gather at one spot behind me. So when the mobs AOE, the whole team is injured. I am still researching for a way for the toonz to break off when the tanks takes the mobs. My main problem is that sometimes the toonz are not facing the right direction, and they just stand there when I am trying to maintain the tank.

Am I considered too greedy to try to run a team with all different classes, should I just use the same class on all 5 toonz so that I can broadcast all keys?

One huge advantage I have when I have 5 accounts: you can create all the guilds you want. Just buy a guild register with one toonz, and have the other 4 sign it. It's a one man Guild Creation Machine.

Anyway I hope this WOT can give some help to the others, I will post more of my experience as I go along. Right now I am waiting for the maintanence and going to finish the Children's week quest on my main account.

What software are you using for your boxing?
If it supports a "Repeater Region", I'd go with Grid + Grid Custom Layouts + Clique for your healing.
A Repeater Region is an area of the screen, which when the mouse enters your mouse-broadcasting is turned on (but only to specified characters... like your healer in this case).
If you have the option to KVM/Block Local click, that's good... that way your tank and DPS don't untarget the mob while your healer is healing.

Grid will show your group/raid/battleground.
With Custom Layouts, you can force it to display your team in column one, and to display the raid alphabetically meaning every frame will be in exactly the same order on all of your characters.

Clique interprets various clicks to be specific heals.
For example, with a Paladin healer I use:
- Left Click = Flash of Light
- Right Click = Divine Light
- Alt + Left = Holy Shock
- Alt + Right = Word of Glory

You should set up some binds which will break movement on the slaves.
I would use Left Arrow = Strafe Left, Right Arrow = Strafe Right, Up Arrow = Move Forward and Down Arrow = Move Backwards.
But have those movement keys only go to the slaves, not to the active character.

Then you can get most of the way to the mobs...
Break follow with Down Arrow.
Run the tank in, and engage the mobs... with your other toons 15-20 yards away.

If A is an existing account with some characters already on it....

You could have two toons at the next dungeon your team will run.
And use the first to summon B and the second to summon D.
With B summoning C, and D summoning E.

It would cost you a log out/log in time, but save 30 minutes... if for some reason you could not get there with the lower toons.

If you have the RAF mount, you could also go with...
A takes the mount along with D (two-seater mount).
A will summon B, who will summon C.
D who rode with A, will summon E.

I am using PwnBoxer. So far, I seem to be relying mostly on jamba. I have only configure Pwnboxing mainly for key broadcast.

Thanks for the advice Ualaa, I will read up more on the items you have mentioned.

I believe you can do a Repeater Region with PB, although I'm not sure how since I don't sue that for my boxing.

I know you can do it, in conjunction with PB, by using Hot Key Net.
There's a thread on that here: Mouse Broadcasting with HKN

2nd Update:

It has been after a while, I have more experience with the setup, but am still learning.

Luckily the experience is getting better.

I have since created another team of 5 mages (I like mages). Using my main 85 mage, I was able to power level the other 4 toons to lvl 50 in a day. After I got the hang of Jamba basic functionalities, I decided to give my main team of various classes another try.

This time round, I am able to control the team better. I was able to clear a few guild dungeon challenge runs with my team. This feels great as I was actually taking a lot of stuff from the guild (guild repair, guild bank stuff), now I can contribute to the guild.

This are my findings:

1. Gear
It really bores down to the gear. Need to get good gear for the tank and healer. It is tougher for fresh startup teams as the initial gear are not that great. I think heirlooms helps, but I don't have any at the moment.

2. Healer
I made the initial mistake of getting my healer to deal damages when there is no need for healing. The down side is that when it actually comes to the need to heal, the healer ran out of mana. So right now, the healer is on standby and only heals when needed. The action bar for the healer is empty for me.

3. Initial Dungeon
I strongly recommend Wailing Caverns if anyone wants to try their setup. The mobs are few and far in between, there are no waves of mobs that overwhelm you. My team of averagely equipped classes was able to get through the dungeon quite easily. The key thing is that not to get excited or panic. I tend to be so especially when Jamba sirens when any toons health falls below 50%.

You could go with two different DPS keys.

One would have the healer also doing DPS.
The other would be without healer participation.

You would need to know the instance or fight mechanics.
Meaning, it would be safer to use the non-healer DPS the first time doing something.
But once you learn when you don't need the healer, you clear whatever that much faster.

How are you healing?

There are three basic approaches, I've seen.

Press this key = this specific heal on a specific toon.
- have four keys for Renew, one per toon (on a four toon team)
- have another four keys for Greater Healing, etc.

Assist the mob...
#show Renew
/assist [@focus]
/cast [help][help,@targettarget][help,@targettargettarget] Renew

This will have your healer assist the active toon (assuming your leader is your focus).
And if their target is friendly, heal that target.
But if they're targeting a hostile, the first condition fails.
Which means we move to the second: the target of the target... which in most fights will be your tank.
The third conditional will only ever apply in PvP; the team is killing an enemy healer, who is healing an enemy player, who is killing someone friendly.

You would have 2-3 different heals set up like this; a Priest might have a combination of: Renew, Flash Heal, Penance, Heal...

A Grid, Grid Custom Layouts, Clique based setup.
Which works equally well as a straight Healbot or straight Vudho setup.

Everything is alphabetical, on all screens.

You have a "Repeater Region", over the whole frame.
(When your mouse enters the area, mouse broadcasting is enabled and sends the clicks to your healer(s), when your mouse leaves the region the broadcast turns off).
You set up, this click does this heal.

And since the frames are alphabetical, the third frame down is the same target on everyone's window.
Meaning, you can drive any toon and still heal equally well, as if you were playing the healing character directly.

I personally started with approach one.
Moved to approach two.
Then moved to approach three, which is the most powerful.

But then added a few approach two keys.
Just so I can heal someone who is not part of my group/raid.

I use the first method. Specific key for specific toon.

I am thinking of doing method 3. Still investigating the key map method for pwnbox.

I personally don't like the concept of being unable to have finite control over what you want to do, and when.

So I'd do this:

Go with 1 key that is a bit fat DPS rotation. If there is something that can't be macroable, then seperate that into a unique key, giving you far better control of when that is triggered, and when not.

Then bind those 2 macros to keys such as 2 and 3, so you can just roll your fingers between the two and button mash away.

Yesterday I was clearing the guild runs. I finally met a boss that uses Fear. Really bad for boxers lol.

I found a way, I disengage the team at the distance (hunters, warlock, priest) and bring the tank up. It is lucky that fear's area of influence is less than the shooting range of the hunters.
