| Ok I started my team in Lothar in Tim's new guild and now that I've broken free of the starter area, I now choose professions to level as I level, though I know this may slow me down a bit, but I figure with the gathering at least I'll be able to get some extra XP for the team, as last I knew it was team XP per node, plus money on the AH... However, I found out that gathering professions no longer provide XP party wide! Now my leader my gatherer, will be ahead in XP every time he picks a node! Is there a way to turn off the gather xp, or do I have to live with my gatherer being higher in level just cause he picks flowers and smashes stones for metal. |

| heh, looks like the thread on the battle.net forums is all over it already... I hope they fix this in the next patch... sooner or later my main will be higher than the others and can't do dungeons cause he's too high. But I hope it gets resolved. | You could go for multiple gathering toons. Maybe two miners and two herbalists, but that means longer in each zone before moving to higher ore/herbs which are ungatherable at a lower skill level. Honestly, I'd just level and forget the gathering entirely. Discounting flying entirely, a ground epic mount at 60th took as long to level a gathering skill to 300 (including skinning in that) as it delays leveling by concentrating on the skill while you level. No time saved/wasted for either approach. Same deal for flying mounts in the later zones. Questing will get enough gold per toon, to train key skills. And as a boxer, you can easily level on 3-4 spells are current per toon, and train new spells and such every 15-20 levels. Plus now, once you have a spell, it automatically scales with your level; so aside from a key skill/spell that is new, you could level all the way up with minimal visits to the trainer, if you were on a new server and very broke. Once you hit Outland, there is more gold by far than is needed for skills. I'd prioritize: Slow Ground, Fast Ground, Slow Flying, Cold Flying, Azeroth Flying, Epic Flying, Faster Epic Flying. The gathering thing sucks... But it doesn't make a huge difference. Stay in an area until the lowest toon levels, then move on. |

| Yeah, I was thinking along those lines too. I think i'll just ditch the gathering proffs. Best not to be tempted to gather and throw my XP off kilter :P |

| This is why I have a problem with Blizzard. The post has excellent feedback in it, yet Blizzard locks it and basically turns the cold shoulder. |
