Default 5-man team

How would this go:

Pally Tank
Destro Lock
Ele Shammy
Frost Mage
Disc Priest

Or should I replace the Frost mage for another Shammy or a Boomkin or Hunter to increase effectivness? (Will have all toons available on each account due to my levelling obssession lol).

When I start my first team we will be in NR at 68 after being boosted....

Think i'll have to learn click macros for all but the Paladin (96969 std macro here)

Sounds like a great PVE team, easily able to do PVE heroics.

You might want to sub out the lock for a hunter or a boomkin. The hunter can bring replenish and not suck up another set of cloth armor, and the boomkin brings the boom!

Replacing the Frost Mage for another Elemental Shaman, is one of the easier and stronger PvE teams.

Optionally, you could ditch the Disc Priest, for a 3rd Elemental Shaman, and go with 3x DPS who also heal. That's slightly stronger DPS etc, and enough healing for any heroic. Just a preference on going a dedicated healer or more dps, who sometimes stop dps to heal.

Hey Tim, Destro Locks bring replenishmet as well.

As for the team. I dont see anything inherently wrong with it. Are you planning to Perma-pet the mage?

Yes, would be glyphing for perma-pet for a bit more dps. Was going to do Pally, 4 x Shaman but like the idea of a mixed group to try.

Don't PvP much so this will be a badge grinding group, thinking of leveling a 5 druid team and a 5 DK team alongside them for daily grinding

For a predominantly caster team, you'd want one of:

Balance Druid, Unholy Death Knight or Warlock.
This gets you the 13% spell power boost, which is huge.

Balance Druid forces you to manage Eclipse procs, or it will not keep up with other dps options.

The Death Knight forces you to click all their spells manually, because a castsequence or click sequence is almost impossible to set up. The DK can tank fine, but they're the most click intensive tank which makes multi tasking a bit harder. As far as a DPS class, they stink when they're not the active toon, who is receiving a lot of attention. Basically if you use a DK for this buff, they're your tank.

The warlock just needs to cast Curse of the Elements, can be any spec as mindless one-button spam. Destruction, will match the DPS of anything else boxed.

Spec the mage into fire (use NeedtoKnow or similar to watch for hotstreak procs). Frost is not your friend, even with a perm pet.
Replace disc priest with either Holyspec or a Resto shaman.

Or a pewpew Shaman and heal with both as many ppl do (I dont like the idea tho).

I am facerolling HC's with almost the same grp.

Mage - Fire
Shaman - Ele
Lock - Destro
Pally- Prot
Shaman - Resto

MSBT, or Jamba have a proc watch feature built into them now. There's a bug, with a report on the blizzard tech forums - at the moment, many procs aren't showing up in the combat log, so doesn't matter which addon you use to monitor procs.

Still, there are a lot of options, as far as monitoring procs go. If you're willing to watch for a proc, and have a key just for that, there's a dps boost.

For a boxer, a Disc Priest is way better then either a Holy Priest or a Resto Shaman.

I'd consider a resto shaman, for the healer position, if the team didn't already have an Elemental Shaman... Bloodlust/Heroism and totems are huge, but the team already has these.

Essentially, for single target healing, a Holy priest will heal a lot more then a Disc priest will, but a Disc priest prevents damage from being taken by a much larger margin. For AoE heals, Holy has one extra toy, the talented Circle of Healing - granted this is nice, but Holy Nova/Prayer of Healing is all you really need for AoE pve healing.

Disc is much more mana efficient; in gear where Holy will need to drink every 3rd pull, Disc will need to drink every 8th pull. Penance hits instantly, and then pulses at one second later and again another second later. If a mob is pounding on the priest, and you only get 2 of the 3 pulses off, it is still more mana efficient then Greater Heal. Because the first pulse is instant, Disc can save someone who took threat unexpectedly more so then any other healer. And with talents, PW: Shield has no cooldown, so you can spam it on party member after party member (still limited on one target - weakened soul); you have massive haste (40%) after a PW: Shield, allowing for a quicker Flash Heal/Penance then any other spec. You can talent Flash Heal to hit very hard on low health targets.

Not saying a resto shaman or holy priest aren't good is some situations, but for a boxer they're not even close.
